Bio-digesters help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions due to improved manure management and displacement of fossil fuel or non-renewable biomass. Every customer reduces around 5 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year. Verdant Biogas will measure the emission reductions related to the usage of our bio-digesters, thereby creating voluntary carbon credits. In the near future carbon revenues will enable us to further lower the retail price of our products, increase margins to installation partners and enable further scaling of our company.
Discharging manure into the environment in the medium term will result in local groundwater pollution. Verdant Biogas provides training to customers on the effective use of bio-slurry. This will not only result in savings on chemical fertilizers and higher yields but also prevents local groundwater pollution.
Chemical fertilizers and pesticides are produced from fossil fuels. This creates a dependency on countries that are producing these products. Bio-slurry usage can strongly reduce the need to use both, thereby reducing dependency on other countries and negatively affecting the trade balance. It furthermore contributes to local circularity.
Verdant Biogas works through the local private sector. This results in local jobs regarding construction and installation of the bio-digesters. Verdant Biogas furthermore encourages installation partners to register as a formal business and support their further development.
